You must take certain precautions while taking Letrozole. It can impair your thinking or reactions as a result of side effects. So, you need to be extra cautious while driving, running machines or doing any activity that requires mental alertness. Taking generic Femara  ( Japanese : フェマーラ ) during pregnancy must be avoided as serious birth defects to an unborn child are possible. Older patients may feel drowsy or dizzy and shouldn't stand or sit up speedily.

If you experience any of these signs of an allergic reaction such as hives, difficulty in breathing and swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat, you must seek emergency medical help and stop using Femara (Letrozole). Other critical side effects include bone fracture, chest pain, urinary tract infection and vision or speech changes.

There are some side effects that don't demand much medical attention. These include dizziness, headache, increased sweating, hot Flashes, night sweats, weight gain or loss, bone, back, joint, or muscle pain, nausea, loss of appetite, or swelling in your hands, ankles, or feet.
